SOL Tuesday
Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for a public and have no self. ~Cyril Connolly
A while back I wrote a blog post for the PA Writing and Literature Project on why I teach. I was very excited to have it posted on Project’s blog. Last week that post was selected to be posted on Workerstories.org.
I did originally write that post for myself and was not worried about having a public, but if I am to be totally honest…. I LOVE THAT IT IS GOING PUBLIC AGAIN!
I put a link to the piece below.
I especially loved the phrase, “cheer the unexpected.” I think that is why I teach – there are so many moments that cannot be predicted, but can be cheered, or can cheer us!

Loved your piece and especially this sentence: “Teaching gives me permission to be a life-long learner, to read and write and share my passions with my students.” I say amen to these words. And being published again is no little thing – it deserves a celebration!

I am glad you were republished, I may never have had the chance to read and enjoy your wonderful piece. Like an internet meme this should resurface from time to time as a reminder. Brava!

Thank you. Sometimes I need the reminder myself – especially at this time of the year!
