The wind whistles
its ominous warning
through the not quite closed
storm window –
a precursor
to the impending
thunderstorms and high winds
Nature’s way of telling us
to stay in
hunker down
be vigilant

“The wind whistles its ominous warning”-made me stop and think about how nature truly does communicate with us in so many different ways- wind as a warning, sunlight highlighting a plant to make us stop and experience joy, Spring in general that life can be renewed. Thanks for bringing this to my mind.

Yes, that whistling wind!
The words “hunker down” are forever associated with a different storm- the Covid pandemic, for me… that is what the governor in IN said in his speech at that time.

Nature certainly has a voice of warning! We’ve had our share of messages so far this spring.
