Tomorrow is the day that grades will close.
Are all assignments in – only heaven knows.

My eyes are crossing, my head starts to spin
Checking and rechecking to see if everything’s in.

Some of the students are always on time
Others I have to hunt down like they’ve committed a crime.

I am a patient person; that much is true,
But could you PLEASE turn your assignments in when they are due?

  1. I love how you have crafted your clever poem to include the frustration and urgency a teacher goes through at this time of year. I always think of Jan Burkins and Kim Yaris and their book, Who’s Doing The Work, when I’m chasing students around to turn in late work. At that time, it’s ME! But is there another option? Good luck!

  2. Oh my I’m hoping the students get everything in on time! I’m currently dragging/cajoling my middle school students to finish work for their core classes. Everything takes soooo looonnnnggg when we’re eLearning! Good luck!
